Tailwater Condition

Water temperature is holding around 48 degrees throughout the day.  Water is gin clear.  Not much generation this week, TVA is forecasting three to four hours of generation throughout the day.  The upper section, from Emmit Bridge to Big Springs Boat Ramp, is producing the best fishing.

Trout Fishing

Numbers can be caught on fly tackle with smaller flies.  Smaller flies that are working are midges, Blue Wing Olive, and scud patterns in the size 18 to 20 range.

Good bite as of late.  On high water the trout are targeting bigger meals.  Jerk baits and streamers fished along the banks are productive while searching for larger fish.  Numbers can be caught on fly tackle with smaller flies.  Smaller flies that are working are midges, Blue Wing Olive, and scud patterns in the size 18 to 20 range.  These are best fished behind a larger worm pattern.

Water is mostly clear, except around tributaries.  Mix of high and low water this week, but generation is tapering off towards the weekend.  The upper section, from Emmit Bridge to Big Springs Boat Ramp, is producing the best fishing.

Good fishing right now. On high water the trout are targeting bigger meals. Jerk baits and streamers fished along the banks are productive while searching for larger fish. Numbers can be caught on fly tackle with smaller flies. Smaller flies that are working are midges, Blue Wing Olive, and scud patterns in the size 18 to 20 range.  These are best fished behind a larger attractor fly such as a worm.

Water temperature is holding around 48 degrees throughout the day.  Water visibility on the upper end is clear, but clouding up as you move down river.  Rain early in the week will continue to cloud water with runoff, but large windows of generation by mid-week will clear up the water.  The upper section, from Emmit Bridge to Big Springs Boat Ramp, is producing the best fishing.

Good bite, especially with runoff.  Fish are targeting bigger meals on generation.  Small jerk baits and streamers fished along the banks are productive while searching for larger fish.  Numbers can be caught on fly tackle with worm patterns followed by smaller flies.  Smaller flies that are working are midges, Blue Wing Olive, and scud patterns.
