Bass, Catfish, Bluegill and Crappie all can be found along the channel swings with grass in 4 to 6 foot of water and around the humps. We did have a decent top water hard baits and frog bite this past week focusing on bank grass. We found our better fish on the outside of grass lines using Tightline Mussel Crawler jigs tipped with Twin Tail grubs, Tightline Swim Jigs with Driftwood Swimbaits, soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and poppers.  A Carolina rig is aways a good go to on Woods.  Drifting/trolling with spider rigs for Crappie is picking up some nice slabs but you have to weed through the short fish. Water temperatures range from 78 to 80 degrees.

With that said here is my advice, its mid-August, Time to take a couple of weeks and check on the Dove field, put the deer plots in and scout/line up the fall Turkey season, and get the Duck Blinds brushed out fishing will be much better come Mid-September.

All but one of my fish came from 4-6 feet of water and all came on either a Tightline Jigs Swim jig with a Driftwood swim bait and a 1/2-ounce Green Tequila mussel crawler jig with Missile Baits twin turbo tail.
