Parksville Reservoir fishing report:        27 April 2025

The weather was warmer throughout the weekend with lows in the upper 50s and highs around 78. Water temperatures are rising slowly due to the warmer weather. Current throughout the reservoir has settled back to normal. Visibility has vastly improved throughout the reservoir. The water levels are at full pool; the latest depth recorded is below. Reservoir Conditions

Water Temp: 67.9 degrees Fahrenheit

Water Clarity: Upper: 5 ft

Lower: 6 ft

Water Flow: (as of April 27th)

Ocoee#1 Dam: ~ 2000 cfs

Ocoee#2 Dam: ~ 414 cfs (spilling)

Observed Species Information

Bass: Fishing is fair. Throwing jerkbaits, crankbaits, and swimbaits around logs in clearer water sloughs. Also ned rigs and other sift plastic rigs around points with structure. Topwater baits over suspended fish have also brought some anglers success.

The weather was cooler throughout the weekend with lows in the upper 30s and highs around 58. Water temperatures are steady due to the cool weather. Current throughout the reservoir has settled back to normal. Visibility has vastly improved throughout the reservoir, but storms have caused the upper portion of the lake to become muddy. Water Temp: 63.7 degrees Fahrenheit

Water Clarity:  Up[er 1.5 ft, Lower 6 ft

–  Ocoee#2 Dam: ~ 1900 cfs (spilling)

Observed Species Information

Bass: Fishing is fair. Throwing jerk baits, crankbaits, and swimbaits around logs in clearer water sloughs. You will need rigs and other sift plastic rigs around points with structure.

The weather was rough with T-storms throughout the morning and temps in the 50s, but highs getting up to 67 that evening. Water temperatures are steadily increasing due to the warm weather. The current throughout the reservoir has settled back to normal. Visibility has vastly improved throughout the reservoir. The water levels are at full pool; the latest depth recorded is below. Water Temp: 61.6 degrees Fahrenheit

Water Clarity: 5 feet

–  Ocoee#2 Dam: ~ 1199 cfs (spilling)

Observed Species Information

Bass: Fishing is fair. Throwing jerk baits, spinner baits and swim baits around schools of bait in open water and creek mouths as well as shallow flats adjacent to river/creek channels. Live minnows in creek channels also attract bites. Bass should be starting to move up shallow in the coming weeks.

Yellow Perch: Fishing is fair. Anglers are finding bites using live minnows and small jigs in river channels on shallow flats and channel banks.

The weather was cool in the mornings, with lows in the 40s, but highs got up to 73 in the evenings. Water temperatures are steadily increasing due to the warm weather. The current throughout the reservoir has settled back to normal. Visibility has vastly improved throughout the reservoir, but the upper portion is murky. Water Temp: 56.6 degrees Fahrenheit

Water Clarity: 6 feet

–   Ocoee#1 Dam: ~ 1991 cfs

–     Ocoee#2 Dam: ~ 1071 cfs (spilling)

Observed Species Information

Bass: Fishing is fair. Throwing jerk baits, A-rigs, and swim baits around schools of bait in open water and creek mouths. Live minnows in creek channels also attract bites. Bass should be starting to move up shallow in the coming weeks.

Yellow Perch: Fishing is fair. Anglers are finding bites using live minnows and small jigs in river channels on shallow flats and channel banks.

The weather was cooler once again with lows in the 20’s and highs reaching 50. Water temps have increased a few degrees throughout the reservoir with the warmer weather over the past week. The current throughout the reservoir has settled back to normal. Visibility has vastly improved throughout the reservoir but the lower portion still being murkier. Water Clarity: 5.5 feet

The weather was warmer this week with lows in the 40’s and highs throughout the day up to 63. Water temps have risen almost 10 degrees in the past couple of weeks. The current throughout the reservoir is heavy due to flood waters. Visibility is sure to drop with heavy rain throughout the watershed the past few days. Water Temp: 51.1 degrees Fahrenheit

Water Clarity: 7 feet

– Ocoee#2 Dam: ~ 7382 cfs (spilling)

Observed Species Information

Bass: Fishing is fair. Throwing jerk baits, A-rigs, and swimbaits around schools of bait in open water and creek mouths. Float-n-fly fishing also attracts bites on steep rocky ledges and points in creek arms. Live minnows in creek channels also attract bites.

Yellow Perch: Fishing is slow. Water temps rising seem to have caused them to shut off. Anglers are still using live minnows or worms, also small jigs/grubs, on shallow channel ledges/flats on the upper portion of the reservoir. Some anglers are finding perch in deeper water as well (25+ feet)

The weather was warmer than the weekend with lows in the upper 30’s and highs throughout the day up to 50 after the rain Sunday night. The water temperature has stayed roughly the same at the main lake. The current throughout the reservoir has been steady. Visibility is good throughout the reservoir There is ice on the surface of the water at Parksville and East Parksville ramps, but King’s Slough Ramp is good.
