Normandy Reservoir Fishing Report
June 2019

Reservoir Conditions: The current lake level is 875.84 feet, approximately one foot above summer pool. Surface water temperatures are averaging in the mid to upper 70’s.

Fishing has been fair to good for all species.

Crappie: The crappie bite has been fair. Most fish are being caught in deeper water. Both artificial and live baits are being used with similar success rates.

Bass: Bass fishing has been good. 18 pounds took 1rst place in a recent tournament and anglers have reported 20 plus fish days. Soft plastics have been the bait of choice. Fish are mostly in the 6-12 foot depth range.

Walleye: Anglers are still catching some good fish. Trolling both live bait and artificial lures has been the most productive technique.

Catfish: Anglers are beginning to catch some nice catfish. Both jugging and hook and line methods have had success.

Normandy Reservoir Fishing Report
May 2019

Reservoir Conditions: The current lake level is 876.17 feet, approximately one foot above summer pool. Surface water temperatures are averaging in the mid to upper 70’s.
Fishing has been a little slow as the bass and crappie are transitioning to the post spawn phase. The best action has been in the early morning and late evening.

Crappie: The crappie spawn is mostly over and the fish are starting to transition to deeper water. Anglers are still catching a few fish shallow, but the bigger slabs have been coming from deeper water. The best fishing has been in the middle to lower sections of the lake.

Bass: Bass fishing has been sporadic. Most fish are being caught on soft plastics and jigs while targeting over hanging trees and laydowns. There has also been a brief top water bite in the morning. Fish are mostly in the 6-12 foot depth range.

Walleye: We are starting to see a few quality walleye being caught. Trolling both live bait and artificial lures has been the most productive technique.

Catfish: The catfish should be starting to spawn with the water temperatures reaching the upper 70’s. Catfishing can be tough during the spawn, but the bite should improve as we head toward summer.
