I finally got time to write something up, sorry for the delay. Friday afternoon I finally committed and took out the boat. I went alone as the first trip sometimes yields some frustration. I decided to put in at Davis, the reason being, this was as much of a make sure everything is working trip as it was a fishing trip.
I got to the ramp, moved a couple pieces of debris, then launched the boat. To my surprise and utter thrill, the boat cranked up really quickly, I banked it and parked the truck. Time to start exploring.
First I noticed it was around 10’ where I used to park the truck and trailer, the water has been a rising. I thought I would head up Beaver Creek a bit as I was wanting to just look around for some crappie. I did find a few fish, but didn’t seem like they wanted what I was throwing, I continued on down the bank. After a while of no bites, I figured I would head up to point 10 area and see what was going on there. As I rounded the turn, the wind was blowing really well, I pondered a minute, then went and investigated the Rainbow bridge side.
I guess I was pretty surprised that the cold line was down so far, right around the front of Davis. I figured when the lake got up, it would move a bit further up, but they have been generating for a while now. I fished around a bit up there, found some structure, then headed back.
I did a bit more fishing down around the boat dock, again, more structure and no bites. The weather was great, had a good time on the water, but time to head back. The debris was everywhere and would like to lend a fair warning, it may be an adventure for a while, some logs just below the surface so please use caution. I know this write up was not much, but that was not the intent for the day. Hopefully will get another trip in the next week or two, but some stuff going on around the house so we will see. Good luck out there fishing and God bless.
