Watauga River Fishing Report: Â Â Â 02 July 2014
Fly fishing on the Watauga this year has been great been a while since I have done a report but we are still here and guiding about every day it has been busy with one stretch having 18 days in a row on the river.Â
The last couple weeks it has been hot with the best fishing early in the mornings and late afternoon. We have been catching fish on every trip. Mostly midges and terrestrials for flies.
The lower Watauga has a bunch of Stripers that have moved in so get down there and catch them too. We have been. Mostly chasing trout but have done a few days chasing Stripers.
