Sunday, March 23, 2014, turned out to be a nice day for fishing. There was a total of 73 fish caught for a total weight of 200.70 lbs. First place honors went to Gordon Monroe and Kevin Barber with a nice limit of fish weighing 18.91 lbs. They netted $900.00 for their efforts. Second place went to Mike Wolfenbarger and Steve Miracle with 17.22 lbs. worth $480.00. Third place went to Craig Powers and Bill Hamilton with 17.21 lbs worth $310.00.
Lunker largemouth went to the team of Tim Smiley and Gary Pilkenton weighing 4.62 lbs. and was worth $100.00. Smallmouth lunker went to Brian Everett and Mark Trent weighing 4.58 lbs. and was worth $100.00. The points race is really tightening up! The Angler of the Year will receive $500.00.
B.A.I.T. and Bojangles along with Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to provide a little more money for payout over the season. We paid out $500.00 over our regular payout. Remember, there will be $500.00 for the highest finishing team from TN-I at the Classic thanks to Ray Varner Ford! Pre-registration will be held Saturday April 5 at Buck’s N Bass in Dandridge from 2-6 p.m. B.A.I.T. is teamed up with Bass Pro Shops and will be hosting the weigh-ins for the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series! Their next tournament will be April 19, 2014 on Douglas.
