Cumberland River Fishing Report:    24 June 2017

Cumberland River. It’s been a typical wet spring for the Cumberland River. Higher water flows have dominated most of the late winter and spring seasons. Lower flows have been showing up a little more as of late but we’ll have to see how bad the damage was from Tropical Storm Cindy before we have any idea when predictable flows will come around again. I’m expecting everything to be in fine shape when I start fishing there later next month.

My friends in Kentucky have been having a great time on the Cumby for the last few weeks. High fish counts and pictures of “Citation” fish have been talked about in all their fishing reports. I’m very pleased with what I’ve seen there in the last few years myself and these reports look promising as well. The Cumby is still making its comeback and it seems to be getting better every day. I’m currently booking late June and August trips for the Cumberland River. The river has always been a fun destination for summer terrestrials, as well as top notch streamer fishing. The nymph fishing isn’t bad either if that’s your game. Now’s the best time to get on the books and reserve your lodging. The area gets busy in the late summer and booking early will insure your reservations are good.
